My holistic approach

My holistic approach

Holistic:
Two trainings, one approach:

I am trained in both conventional medicine and complementary medicine: a specialist in Internal Medicine, Haematology and Oncology — and at the same time a Master’s graduate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Together, these two approaches form the foundation of my holistic medical practice.

For me, it goes without saying that every conventional medical question is also informed by my experience in TCM, pain medicine and psychosocial care. Because health is more than laboratory values and diagnostics — it is the interaction of body, mind, lifestyle and environment.

For medicine that sees the whole person

For medicine that sees the whole person

I never see a person reduced to their diagnosis. I am interested not only in blood values or MRI scans, but also in questions such as: How are you managing in everyday life? How do you sleep? What weighs on you emotionally? What patterns appear in your family history? How do you eat? How do you cope with stress?

This information helps me not only to treat symptoms, but to identify underlying causes — and thereby provide more sustainable care.

How I work holistically

In my practice, every treatment is individual — there are no standard solutions. Instead, together with you, I analyse:

  • Which symptoms are most prominent
  • What is medically necessary from a conventional medicine perspective
  • Whether complementary treatment with TCM (e.g. acupuncture, herbal therapy) would be appropriate
  • How lifestyle, nutrition or psychosocial factors affect your health

Based on this, a personalised concept is developed — medically precise, humanly understandable and practically feasible.

Not either–or,
but both

I often experience that patients feel they have to choose between conventional medicine and alternative methods. I consider this an unnecessary contradiction. I am convinced that both approaches have their justification — and that combining them often produces the best results.

Especially in chronic illnesses, exhaustion syndromes, functional disorders, or in cancer aftercare, my integrative approach has proven its value many times. I explain things clearly, work transparently, and make room for your individual needs. This builds trust — and, for me, is the foundation of an effective medical relationship.
